"Young Mother" Official Music Video

“Young Mother” is my first EP made of the very first songs I ever wrote after I picked up the guitar and started singing for the first time at the age of 32. I was myself a young mother living quite an isolated life in the French countryside and I made the decision to start showing up regularly to my creative practice. Each song revealed something deeper about myself. I realized I was climbing a personal mountain made not only of emotional hardship but also of surrender, self-love and self-compassion. And when I came down that mountain, I realized I had been completely transformed.

Recorded in one take in a local chapel, Young Mother is a musical trace of a threshold crossed. I’m beyond grateful to be sharing it with you.

About "Young Mother" EP

My name is Karolina Blaszyk. I'm a self-taught singer-songwriter and artist, born in Poland and based in France, at the foot of the Vercors mountains. Inspired by the silence and innocence of the pastoral surroundings, I picked up the guitar for the first time after becoming a mother at the age of 32. I use music as a way of expressing emotions of loss and longing, as well as hope and faith. Guided by the transformative power of creativity, my songs delve deep into the experience of being alive, exploring emotional landscapes of yearning and self-discovery.

I’m also a visual storyteller, and besides songwriting, my favorite way to tell a story is through analog photography. Inspired by Tarkovsky’s mysterious polaroids, I often explore absence as an evocative force.
